In most magazines a double page spread consists of half of the page being taken over by a picture or more, and then the rest is writing. This is shown below;

This magazines genre is indie/alternative and the cover reflects this because of the colours and pale face on Lily Allen, by looking at this magazine you can see which kind of content there is going to be. The magazine is not over crowded and looks quite well spaced, the big cover line about Lily Allen is sure to draw the reader’s attention.
This magazine genre is rave and the colours which are used for the front cover and mast head show this, it uses bright colours for the cover lines and mast head and big bold writing, the picture of Fergie stands out and by what she is wearing you can see what genre it is. The cover line saying “The Holiday Issue” shows that it is a good party magazine with all the rave music.Q’s Magazine is full of indie/rock music and information, its cover is very basic and looks quite upper-class because it looks simple, The picture where the mans hand points out of the page to you feels like the magazine is being personally directed at you, it will make you look at the magazine and consider it. The cover lines are very simple and basic and there is not a range of colours, it uses mainly white and red.
